1996 Ford Taurus both panel and tail light don't work

Both panel and tail light don't work. But all the fuses are good.

Check the relay box under your hood. more than like you have a something out up there.

Yes, there would be a fuse box inside car. Either driver's side at kick panel, or passenger side in the glove box or underneath at the kick panel. When you find it, put that 40 amp fuse back in and continue with your test. I don't know what that junction block fuse is for. Surely someone will post it.

Break lights work tail lights don't

First check your bulbs. Next see if your dash lights are working, as usually these are fused with the tail lamps to let you know they are out. If you have a trailer connector, that is also a place that causes trouble with the rear lamps. If all of this checks out, the headlamp switch would be the next thig to check

If your absolutely positive fuse is not blown, I'd replace headlight switch. H/L switch powers dash lights and tail lights.

Replace the fuse. Most of the time when the tail light fuse is blown it will go un-noticed. This is why they combine the instrument cluster lighting, and tail lights on the same fuse. That way if the dash lights are out you know the tail lights must be out also.

You will have to check there is an output voltage from the switch ( suspect plug connector) . If you say the fuses are ok then you will have to try either a relay or fuse box connector . Good luck

check to see if there is power at the light green/red wire at the alt. If the is no power check the thirty amp fuse in the engine comp fuse box for the alt.
