Question about 1994 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera
The door lock on the driver side jams in the locked position. Very rarely will it come unlocked when the key is turned off. Can this be disconnected? I have taken the cover off and tried to pry the lock into the open position without success.
The lock actuators fail and jam up, there s a rod to the power lock actuator, remove it from the lock button mechanism.

6. Turn the key to the OFF position, remove keys from the ignition, unlock doors using the driver's side power lock/unlock switch and open the driver side door.

Same thing happened with mine. It turned out that the
power door lock motor went out. Since the handle or the switch can unlock the
driver's door, both of these mechanisms are connected. When the door lock motor
goes out it freezes in whatever position, it was last engaged.
