I would look into the idle air controll valve it controlls the idle on your car and since it starts a shuts off does it idle a little low when you start it then just stall out and shut off

My car is sputtering and dying. If I try to restart it, it will immediately go into sputtering/dying mode. If I wait a while an hour or so it will start up and drive fine.

When was the last time that the carburetor was stripped and cleaned? Also have you checked the fuel filter? Finally, the problem seems to come and go as the engine is run (and it gets hot) check that the fuel line and any electrical cables are well away from the hot engine as far as is possible.

I have a 1999 Toyota Camry it starts up and runs for a few seconds and dies right down. I've changed the fuel filter and it seems to run just a little bit longer. But it still will not keep running. A

Check your fuel pressure. It may be low, or losing pressure from a bad pressure regulator. A thorough test of your fuel system seems in order. (A pressure test can also detect a bad regulator, if it's done properly.)

I have a 2004 Olds Alero. It is turning over but not starting right away. Once it does, it acts like it's going to die by sputtering and the car shudders. Once it sits for a few minutes, it runs like...

replace fuel filter if it hasn't been. then check fuel pressure when started or when condition is current. could have a faulty fuel pump. (in tank)

Fuel problem with 03 alero.......Sputtered, died, now wont stop

I am having the same exact issue right now with my 01 Alero. Been having electrical issues with lights coming on and off. ABS was kicking on a few times even. It started sputtering like it was running out of gas, thought that might have been the case. But after I put gas in it it still didn't start. Now it turns over but nothing. What ended up being wrong with yours?
