Question about 1996 Ford Explorer
If the mechanic allredy done the reset - isn't discontecting the battery wire the same? and my second qeustion is - does the 17 miles per gallon - is for city or highway?
thank you vey much
idan abuhav, israel
IF THE RESET HAS BEEN DONE THEN IT WOULD BE THE SAME. BUT IF THE MECHANIC ONLY CLEARED THE CODES AKA. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT.... THEN NO IT IS NOT THE SAME. RESETING THE KAM IS A VERY DIFFERENT THING. TO DO THIS WITH A SCAN TOOL YOU MUST HAVE THE FACTORY(FORD) SCAN TOOL AND NOT JUST A GENERIC SCANNER. AND THE 17 MPG SHOULD BE FOR THE CITY AND ABOUT 19-20 ON THE HWY.
