It needs recharging probably. Its $60 or so at a garage or about $20 to do it your self.

It means the system is leaking though and its likely that recharging will get you through a summer but you may need to recharge again the following summer due to the leak.

If the leak is bad the fixing it is going to likely be expensive but for that you will need to charge the system with a cannister of refrigerant that has leak detector in it to find out whats leaking - and more than likely a garage may be better suited to do this for you unless you are familiar with working on your own cars.

We have a 2002 Chevy Malibu.. And the fans want run to keep the motor cool.. When the motor get too hot the car will shut off.. So, what do I do about it??

First check fuses, there are two fans if fitted with air con. The air con. fan only comes on with the air con. The engine radiator cooling fan comes on at operation tem., it is controlled by a censer switch on the radiator .If there is power to the switch and the switch is OK the fan motor is at fault.

Ac fan works but does not get cold

Hi there,
Check the air con drive belt is still OK.
Check to see if there is a slight change in the engine sound when the air con is switched on and off while idling - I'd get someone to do the switching while I listened under the hood.
If there's no change in sound (assuming whatever had to be switched on to enable air con to go, eg fan was operating) I'd check the fuse(s) for the air con.

If the fuse is ok, and you've already charged up the freon (not quite sure what you were saying there), I'd be taking it to an air con specialist.

My air con is not working.it has gas in the system, relay is ok,air con switch is ok but the air con compressor does not turn on when air con is on.when you direct the compressor or brigde the relay,the...

You may have freon in system but compressor won't engage unless it's full under pressure. By jumping the the relay you're doing damage to compressor by running on low pressure. Have system evacuated and recharged to proper amount of freon - usually 4 lbs of freon

Heater/air con

The heater resister switch has gone. You need to strip out the box and put a new switch in which costs around £20
