Acts like isnt gettin gas
Sounds like a fuel blockage.
Check the fuel filter that is between your petrol tank and the engine. Sometimes the filter is adjacent to the fuel tank, other times its mounted under the car near the rear, and other times it is under the hood near the carburettor or fuel injection system. The filter is designed to remove impurities from your fuel eg dirt, rust, etc. It is often a small clear-ish plastic cylindrical device with fuel hose running into each end. Sometimes its a metal device, again in a cylinder shape with fuel hoses connected at each end.
Is there any warning lights on the dashboard?
A visit to an auto repair shop will allow them to connect up a diagnostic machine to a specific plug in your car (put there by the manufacturer for this specific reason) and run a test on your system. If its not the fuel filter, It could mean there is a problem with your ignition system or possibly the carburetor or fuel injection system, but I would check for a blocked fuel filter first. They are pretty cheap to replace as long as you are competent with tools and getting under your car. If not, take it to the auto shop.
Other potential problems are a bad batch of fuel, or perhaps the wrong type of fuel was pumped in eg diesel instead of unleaded (and usually the engine will not run at all), or low octane instead of high octance fuel was bought at the gas station (but usually the engine pings when that happens)
