    Yesterday I already changed the coolant sensor, and the timing belt is OK. but I do not know what is the ISC, I am sure it is electrical problem, and 90% from electrical parts of the transmission, but tell now I could not find it. Also I have AutoXray 6000 it could not find a troble code. I already changed the fuel pump, the throttle position sensor, the MAP sensor, the crank position sensor, the cam shaft position sensor, the coil, the ideal motor, the spark plugs, the wires of the spark plugs,

Hi,

The correct procedure would be to have your car's computer scanned and the log of error codes interpreted to point to the probable area/component to check.replace.

This concern could refer to a lot of possibilities and it might turn out to be a hit or miss situation. Foremost to check after the computer scan would be EGR valve, fuel pump, idling components, ignition system and others. As said quite a number.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

    Hi again,

    Appreciate your postback/comment.

    On your second post:

    • ISC - idle speed control as used in this posting from another site. The term is commonly used for Mitsubishi cars like a Galant.

    • If no error codes were found, then diagnosis has to be done using factory/dealer test equipment to simulate the fault. Alternately, you can try the long hard way.
    You would need the assistance of an auto electrician to rig a set of test jig. The jig is simply several small pilot bulbs and sockets with one wire of each bulb attached to the:

    • always on B+12 of the injectors;

    • the ignition B+12;

    • transmission ignition B+12;

    • fuel pump B+12;

    • and all other suspect/critical electrically driven components.
    The other end/wire of each bulb/socket goes to the ground. The idea is to monitor all these bulbs while normally using the car. At any point the problem occurs, without switching off, scan which of the bulbs is out. That would be the culprit.

    Cheers.

It is not your timing belt, if you jumped timing your engine would interfere and sieze. Sounds to me like either an electrical problem (coolent sensor maybe) or a bad ISC (which would cause the idle surge). I recommend joining a forum dedicated to the Galant and asking some experts on the car.

Kia Rio cutting off

im assuming that changed the oil unit you mean sending unit ? if so could be electric short in the pick tail or worse wiring harness. second there is also possoble vacum leak .third while unit was being replaced something didnt get put back or got knocked loose. created a new problem. most times as thing are going bad they dont register until it is a prolonged problem as it took 2 days for the check engine to go out that also might have been normal. you might also notice while sitting at park when you turn the wheel you will notice ia differance in the idle, if its almost stalling then its probley your idle,needs re set, or your idle controle valve is going bad ,did it get checked or cleaned when they serviced the throttle body. and also could be your mass air flow sensor going bad or need cleaned

The O2 sensor was changed last month. The check engine light returned. The dealer said there was a leak in the flex pipe. Recommend replace flex pipe. Did that. problem still exist. When driving the car...

Replacing an O2 sensor generally is "fixing the symptom" instead of fixing the cause. A good O2 sensor will often trigger a code if the exhaust mixture it is "seeing" is out of its range to adjust. If the pipe was bad when the sensor was changed, or if another part of the engine management system is out of range, it can cause the new sensor to fail or trigger the check engine light. In your case, I'd clear the codes and see if that helps. If not, you likely will need to do better diagnosis and perhaps again change the sensor if everything else checks out as good.

Car running fine. Has 160K miles. Just cuts out for no reason. Pull over starts immediately first time and off we go. Gas filter clogged? The only code P1457 was for a vapor leak. We reset that and now...

does it cut out while driving?? If it cuts out while driving does the speedometer drop to zero even if the car is moving?? try shaking the key while the engine is started and the vehicle is in park...car should die?? If yes is your answer to any of these questions, its a faulty ignition switch. There is a recall for this, call your honda dealer for info and possible replacement!! hopefully this helps

Trac off and check engine light for lexus es 300 check engine & trac control off lights & engine stutters while revving in park. Engine seems fine in drive... Reset lights without them returning...

A week ago, on my Lexus ES 300 (2001), "Check Engine" and "Trac Off" lights came on. This coincided with me filling the gas tank to the brim to round the dollar to be paid. I cleaned the gas tank cap and the tank opening. However, both lights persisted. On the same day, when I turned on the car again, there was a hesitance, a stuttering to come on. Both "Check Engine" and "Trac Off" lights were still on.

The next day, the car wouldn't come on at all. It sounded as the battery was dead. I couldn't even jump start the car. So, I got a new battery from Costco ($59) and put it in. It took 15-20 seconds of cranking to get the car started. Once it was started, the engine sounded fine and the RPM normal. The "Check Engine" light was off. However, the "Trac Off" was still on. I cleaned the gas tank cap one more time.

The next morning, when I turned the car on, there was no problems. It came on instantly as it used to be, didn't have any warning lights, and drove smoothly.
