I am somewhat a good mechanic. I have a blown head gasket on my 2001 PT Cruiser, Im wondering how difficult it is to remove the head to get it checked out and then replace the new gasket. I have already had the timing belt and water pump replaced about 15k mi ago.

It should'nt be to hard for you since your a mechanic, there are a lot of steps (too many to type)..
I would go down to the AutoZone parts store and buy a book on this paticular car, about $20.00. You will get all torque specs, thighting sequence--ect...
I think if you take your time, you can do it...Good Luck

Antifreeze leaking from behind crank shaft. what could be the cause of this?

either a rear end core plug or something else like a plastic housing around the back of the engine somewhere ,you will have to have a good look but if your not sure what your looking at then ask a local mechanic to have a look for you .

My 2001 Pt Cruiser Timing Belt Pulley needs a special tool???????

im guessing a pulley press, or is it the tensoner pulley, usually a rachet head will fit in there, or even a pry bar, if one of the pulleys r bad, what ever you do to get it off, then use a block of wood an a hammer to put new one on,

Overheating engine

Check your oil dipstick for coolant, or a mucky substance. Your symptoms sound like a blown head gasket.

2001 pt cruiser running hot after changing thermostat and radiator cap, it starts wonderfully, never even stalls when it runs hot, the only thing running hot is the antifreeze, it bubbles up , and the car...

Likely it's not a head gasket (yet) You should check your fans to make sure they are coming on properly. check that there are no leaves or debris stuck between the radiator and the a/c condenser and that the radiator is flowing well.
Even though the engine is running well after it gets hot, it is not good for the head gasket and can cause it to fail...take care of the problem asap!!!

2001 Pt Cruiser Quit

could be a bad alternator or battery, if by "the motor turns over somewhat" it sounds like it tries to turn over less and less each time you try. Even if it did start it wouldn't stay running with one of these problems.
