Sounds like you have a rod knock. Excessive bearing clearance happens and creates the knock. Time to rebuild the engine or get another one.

I have a 1999 5.4 f150 4x4 loud knocking started on passanger side also guages all pinned and bounced around truck runs rough and stalls what could it be

it sounds like a critical internal failure is eminent . if the oil pressure is ok,it could be a bent or broken valve as the exhaust leak can let the valves cool to fast and warp. however it sounds more critical than that. do a compression test on that side and see if the #'s are consistent.

Loking for illustration off chana star valve timing marks urgent and does if bent valves if putted valve timing incorrectly

Hi there
Well if you done the motor and you havent timed it correctly then you will get a knocking noise and dependens on the motor then yes it could bend the push rods or tight tappets or out of timing the valves can bend, hole in pistons bent rockergear etc.
But depends on the motor if you time it with number 1 piston is TDC number 1 and last valves rocking [depending on how many cylinders you have 4 /6/ etc and set distributor firing No 1

1999 3.0 ford ranger knocking at idle only

It sounds like a valve or valve lifter issue. First check and make sure the oil livel is where it needs to be. Then, I would let it idle for a few minutes and see if the knock goes away when it warms up a little (still idling). If not, its a bit more in the advanced stages of a valve or valve lifter going bad. Either way, I would change the oil with some high quality synthetic oil and get a filter with a non drainback valve (k&n or Mobil 1 has them for sure). Those attempt to keep the oil in the top half of the motor when you shut it off. I would always let your car run for a minute (longer in winter) before you drive it to get the oil pumped up and circulating.

Knocking on top of motor its not smoking and has

The timing has probably gone out of adjustment. Do not drive the car until you have it checked out. You may or may not have a valve / piston clearance. Sometimes carbon build up can make a clearance engine no longer have it. I hope this is the case with your engine. It is possible that you are experiencing pre-detonation (knocking and pinging) This can be a timing issue as well. An auto mechanic or experienced friend should help you with this issue. Good luck with your repairs. Thank you for letting me serve you on Fixya.

I have a 1991 Olds custom cruser that pingsthe motor ping

Either your valves are knocking. Your IAC (Idle Air Control valve), or your knock sensor. The only thing is that if your knock sensor is bad it would throw a code. Your caddy could be the problem but again it would throw a code

Problems with valves knocking

You can remove the belt from the super charger and see if knocking persists. Car will run w/o super charger. Plan to spend about $300 for a remanufactured super charger.
