Question about 1999 Honda Civic

1 Answer

No start i have a 99 civic ex and i rebuilt the engine but it had no spark. but power is coming to the distributor but nothing coming from the coil. i bought a re-man distributor but still nothing but i don't know if i have gotten the right one. my question is : would it make a difference between the 2 distributors? cause i know they say 1 is for the japanese version and the other is for the american.

Why does 99 honda cive ex have no ignition spark?

There is no definitive test for it the ICM, or igniter. If you are positive that the coil is good and it has power at the black/yellow wire, confirm that it is hot at the igniter. Make sure all 4 connecters on the igniter are tight, they should not pull off easily. With the cap off, you should check for spark directly from the coil to ground. Rotors fail too. If everything checks out, and still no spark, the next step is replacing the igniter. Check prices at Honda, sometimes they are the same or cheaper than aftermarket.

No spark on the 98 honda civic ex coupe coil is good and icm is good what else could it be?

If the coil is good and giving out spark and your ICM is good the cap can have a missing button which will not allow spark to go to the spark plugs through the plug wires do replace the distributor cap and rotor and spark plug wires

Have 1999 honda civic ex w/ v-tech motor we have replace computer, main relay, distubor, coil, and fuses still will not fire

have you check the plug at the right strut tower? the plug comes loose and it causes the car not to start. one thing to do is check for power and ground pulse at the coil. also check the ignitor in the distributor to make sure it is sending signal to the coil.

Make sure your distruibutor rotor in turning while cranking engine, if it is timing belt ok, more then likely your not getting spark to spark plugs check your ignition coil, but more then likely it's going to be your ignition module.
