JDawson is correct, but also the passenger side axle must be removed. Fully removing the strut will make it a little easier as well. Ford recommends removing the exhaust Y pipe, but this isn't necessary if you have a little patience and creativity.

First thought, i am not sure which engine you are dealing, but i can only speculate that yours has the 2.5l v6. first you will need to remove the r/f wheel, then the plastic or rubber splash shield. This is where this simple repair will get somewhat difficult. you will need to remove the outer tie rod end from the spindle assy and the lower ball joint to move the strut far enough out of the way to be able to snake the alternator out. It will still be a very tight fit. You can say THANKS to Ford for making what is supposed to be a simple repair alot more difficult. hope this ifo helps.

How mutch oil for a 2.3 auf engine

You must add 5 1/2 quarts of oil to possibly 6 quarts to it this is very much required but I'm positive only 5 quarts do not over fill the motor it can blow the engine or burn the piston rings because either too much or less is added

Battery not charging whilst engine running

Sounds like you have a bad alternator. You can verify if you have a volt meter. Attach voltmeter to your battery and it should read between 13.1v - 15.8v, anything less you need an alternator. Good sources = BavAuto.com & Pelicanparts.com

Car died, starts when jump it and dies again soon as charge drain

Hello dpkommineni: My name is Roger and I will answer your question. The problem you described is that of a car not charging the battery. You need to have the charging system tested. The alternator should charge between 13.5 to 14.5 volts. Anything less then 12.5 the battery will go dead. Since the weather is hot any use of the head lamp and A/C the battery would die fairly fast. I would also have the battery tested. Should the battery have a open cell then it would not take a charge from the alternator.
Should you need further help please just ask. Please rate the answer as this way we can tell you received helpful information. Thank You for using Fix Ya. Roger
