Hi. Looking for the chassis number. Looked under the drivers seat and other likely places but it is not there ... wonder if there is a number and where

Usually, the engine and chassis number of nissan car can be seen in engine bay. Like a credit card size and all info of the car are casted on the shiny metal. Location in engine bay usually placed on a clear portion of a chassis. Sometimes it is located at driver side wall when you open the door. Other are located under the front passenger seat.

You should be able to read the number by looking through your windshield on the driver's side of your car. Check the driver's side door. The VIN might also belocated in the driver's side doorjamb or on the doorpost.

On the driver's door and on the firewall under the windshield.

have you looked under bonnet or passenger footwell/glovebox or cntre console area at front there the usual places.

When you say 'chassis number' do you mean an identification code for the 'body'? If so, here's a quote from a manual (2003 Wrangler) :

BODY CODE PLATE
A metal body code plate is attached to the floor pan
under the drivers seat. Disengage the snaps
attaching the carpet to the floor pan to read the
information. There are seven lines of information on
the body code plate. Lines 4, 5, 6, and 7 are not used
to define service information. Information reads from
left to right, starting with line 3 in the center of the
plate to line 1 at the bottom of the plate...
