Question about 1996 Jeep Cherokee Country
Sometimes that I drive my truck at 45mph it shakes, everytime is at the same speed or when I turn left at 25mph. I purchase this truck for my dad as a gift but I can give it to him like this. This is what i know about the truck, the suspension was changed to a rancho suspension, also the wheels and tires are the Rubicon tires. The truck was on an accident but only sofe fender damage nothing serious.
This cherokee does not have ball bearings. wheel bearings, axle bearings. and ball joints. any manipulation of the front end will cause it to shake. i have a rubicon express 5.5" on min ZJ. i have had to replace and upgrade all front end components except for the drag link. lift the front end up and do a shake down. watch the component and where they connect. look at your drag link, ball joints (upper and lower) track bar mounting point to the frame. any drilling or fabrication on that point will cause a vibration.
also, your gear box. i have 144000 miles on mine, and the gearbox is about to nee replacing, it will cause a vibration.
after lifting, you will get a driveshaft vibration. get it re-balanced.
are your shocks old or new? if any more than 50000 miles on them, they really need to be replaced, this will also cause a vibration.
