Renault Clio overheating

you got a bad earth in the charging/body earthing system check all the earths under the bonnet first

what year is this clio ,sounds about right for a renault of around 10 yrs old ,keep key away from mobile phone and TV screen and if its an older model with a transponder reader under the dash in the drivers footwell start the engine and cut the third wire and thenj it will have the immobilisor de mobilised but then anyone could steal the car so use a krooklock

Check that the thermostat isn't stuck open. The thermostat is suppose to regulate the coolant temperature in your engine. If it is stuck full open then it will take a long long time to heat up. If you're careful you can do a little test but be very careful. Cut a piece of cardboard and 3/4 the size of your radiator and slide the cardboard down in front of the radiator and block off the airflow going through the radiator. If the car heats up more and starts blowing warm air then your thermostat needs replace. If you get a warning light that your car is overheating then you need to remove the cardboard asap and find another solution.

check the contacts on your rear tail light,that is the wiring going to the tail light,make sure the contacts are clean

my y reg clio has intermittent starting problemm..sometimes i turn key nothing there but dash still lights up..will bump start.then other occasions will start

bad earth on the back light ,where the plastic connector block connects to the light ,run another earth or the plastic bulb holder has corroded connector bars

have you tried recharging your ac? you can buy freon from an auto parts store and have a mechanic put some freon in the air compressor

Hi All, the very same thing happened to me. Cold weather broke my radio and the display screen stayed on with the time and temperature but the radio wouldn't work. I rang Renault & they said I need to come in an get a new radio but I put it off. In the end the problem started affecting my battery and the car wouldn't start. But then when I jump started it, it also started the radio again perfectly. Problem solved!

is the oil/water a milky colour? if so, then yes, your head gasket has blown

almost certainly the heater matrix is blocked, run the engine until hot and feel the two hoses going into the car through the bulkhead, if one is hot and one cold then that is the problem. biggish job dash out and heater box.
