Hi, I'm in saint peters Mo and look forward to helping you are you can give me a call 314-374-5218.
If you are using a charge can if will not go into the vehicle unless the compressor is running. The vacuum from the compressor running is what draws the freon into the system. Look and see if the compressor is running if it is in fact running then you could have a restriction in the system. If it is not running there are a lot of things that can happen that will not allow the clutch on the compressor to engage. If you like give me a call and I help you get your A/C working. Hope this helps and have an awesome day, my name is Allen by the way.

SOURCE: Where do you recharge the airconditioning unit on
Jeep GrandCherokee SUVs manufactured in or before 1995 use R12 refrigerant. You must
retrofit these SUVs to accept R134 refrigerant using a retrofit kit
available at your local auto parts store before you can recharge the
system. In some areas, a license is required to retrofit an air
conditioning system. If this is the case in your area, take your Jeep
to a professional to retrofit the system.
Instructions:
WARINING:
Never try to evacuate the system yourself. A license and special
equipment is needed to evacuate the system. Attempting to do this
yourself will release refrigerant into the air, which is a federal
crime.
Good luck (rated this help).

Does the sun roof do anything whebn you press the button. if not, check your fuses and the sun roof switch. If fuses are good you want to check to see if the sun roof motor is getting power. If it is getting power it could be the motor itself. If it tries to move but can't then you have a mechanical problem. it might be binding so try giving it an assist by pushing on it when pressing the switch.

Even if the battery is fully charged, a dirty or loose connection could cause an interruption in the current flow to the starter. Make sure all connections are free of corrosion and properly tightened.
If, after doing this it still clicks, then your problem may well be a bad solenoid on the starter.
If this turns out to be the case, you can purchase a warrantied rebuilt (or new, if you prefer) starter at your local auto parts store.
Be sure to remember, if you change the starter, to disconnect the battery until the installation is complete, so as to not cause a short if a tool inadvertently touches bare metal while installing.
Good luck!
