Have freelander td4 03 plate, continuous problem with clutch. had new clutch , slave cylinder and master 2 months ago, all fine till a month ago lost pedal completely , had new master fittted problem fixed for a while now peadal goes from being stiff and easy to engage gears to being spongy aand difficult to engage gears if I pump peadal for a while am able to change gears but if I drive any distance pedal becomes spongy again, not losing fluid . Resorted to wedging pedal overnight which results in a firm pedal the following day, but any length of driving results in a spongy pedal on difficulty changing gears..... can anyone help or had same problem?

Definitely a hydraulic issue. Iknow you said they were both changed, but its usually the master & slave assembly that go faulty on the Freelander. Both parts come filled with fluid and pre-bled and only require fitting, no bleeding. Check with garage to make sure they did not split / bleed them.

i had similiar problem i drained all the old fluid out and replaced with new fluid as the old fluid was losing vicousity as a result was having no effect when the fluid was hot.

Clutch for a 1993 civic ex

Could be your slave cylinder again, sometimes they don't last long, had one only last 10 months,go check your clutch master cylinder's fluid,if out, then slave cylinder is bad and should show signs of leakage.Another thing it could be if slave cylinder is good, then check the clutch master cylinder.

I lost all pressure in my clutch so I replaced the clutch/slave cylinder etc on my 2001 saturn wagon. worked fine for a 2 months. Now all of a sudden I have some pressure in the clutch but it seems out of...

Two possibilties. If you haven't yet replaced the clutch master cylinder there might not be enough pressure to fully engage the clutch. If the master cylinder is full of fluid and has been operating properly until now it could be that you only need to adjust the linkage at the slave cylinder to give a little more throw to the pressure plate. Always try the easiest things first. Good Luck!

The clutch pedal is rock hard won't go in too gear checked the clutch master cylinder and thats ok, so do you know what the problem is.

Possible solution! Daewoo Lanos 98-99
Had the same problem suddenly the clutch pedal went rock hard!
The clutch was around 3 months old.
Mechanic checked - Master, Slave, Clutch Components, and inside the box, all looked okay.
Turned out the top arm of the clutch pivot rod had twisted, replaced pivot rod around AU$100.
Fixed Problem!

Clutch pressure plate might be coming apart but be sure to check the clutch pedal pivot and mounts. I've seen firewalls break and cause this problem.

my rodeo had the same problem i corrected it by bleeding the slave cylinder. and is located on the driver side on the gearbox you will find it if you follow the line from the master cylinder down to the gearbox and if that helps but happens again it might have to be replaced.
