I cannot install Canon D646U

Hi,
there is same problem with me, but the user manual says it's sometime not work for win XP, but yesterday i can install it, then i got problem with my XP then i re-install my win XP, after that i can't used my scanner anymore, the system says that can not loading the TWAIN in c:\Windows\twain_32, then i'll try to manual copy file usbscan.sys from the driver cd installer to c:\windows\system32\driver and file in folder US64...(i forget what the folder name, but it must be at the twain_32 folder if you instal the aplication first) to folder c:\windows\twain_32, but it still not work. but maybe i'll tried to install that used safe mode login with administrator account, hope it can help to solve that problem with use the stupid way trial and error. but if it can't solve the problem maybe i'll try to update the driver.

I own a 630U usb and it installs fine,
 but does *not* work with XP,
although I succesfully installed the latest Canon 2000/XP
twain driver (digitally signed) - it even shows up
in scanners and XP device manager ("working")
It freezes as soon as XP tries to access the driver.

It may be related with the "usbscan.sys" issue with XP,
or with the Canon Twain / MS WIA interface

Some people report succesful installations -
so I cannot offer further assistance.

Hi,
Do you by any chance have more than one USB imaging device connected to your
computer? If so disconnect all of them and then try the Canon again. Windows
have a known issue in that it can only handle one Usb imaging device at a
time. Watch the windows updates for a driver patch which I understand they
are working on. For anyone else suffering with scanner or camera connection
problems look at the error code in device manager if this is code 38 unplug
all usb's and re-connect the one you need to use next. Richard.

I have facing the problem with canoscan D646U ex. Already i downloaded drivers which are required for supporting canoscan scanner but then also my image cannot scan by scanner

i have a canon d646u ex and for someone reason after installing the driver every 30 days it will tell me that it expires and i have to uninstall it and install it again and the same thing will happen again. but this time it won't let me install it anymore. i hope you can help me with this. thanks...
