With a bad coil you filled up the exhaust with raw gas. Now the cat is burning it off. Is it running good? if so it will correct itself. if not the problem needs to be fixed or you will ruin the cat.

Well it's running worst now than before it never did that until those parts were changed how can changing those parts make this happen

  • Mark Jun 06, 2011

You did not say it ran worst. If it ran worst you have some wires crossed. The unburnt fuel is getting burnt in the cat. Any trouble codes?

Or we could just say take it to someone that can put it togather as well as they can take it apart. Thanks for the 2 thums up. Next time post the whole story before you vote. All I was trying to do is anser your question. I dont have a chrystal ball.

First off I said and now the converter is turning red second how can the wires be crossed if they are coil over ignition coils and I only changed one and when I did the spark plugs i did them one at a time and I didn't say u had a crystal ball I ain't trying to argue with u im just trying to figure out the problem anything else u can think of that might b helpful I just don't know what could b wrong also no trouble codes im just getting a ding noise after running the car but no lights come on either

I have a 1996 chrysler concorde my car is running like it missing changed wires n spark plugs but my exhaust manifold is turning cherry red my car still missing any idea ? Please

It could be a bad coil. See which spark plug wires have spark when cranking the engine over, and which do not have spark. You have a coil pack with 3 ignition coils. So one coil supplies spark to two cylinders. You may find two cylinders not firing from one coil.

2002 CHRYSLER CONCORDE, 2.7 HAS NO IGN ENG HAS BEEN REBUILT. TIMING DOUBLE CK, CRANK AND CAM SENSORS REPLACED. POWER TO COILS CKD OK. FUEL INJECTORS WORKING PROPERLY, BUT STILL NO IGN SPARK. HELP!!!!

Check that the wiring harness to the coils is getting 12v, this will confirm if the pcm is sending a signal for the sparks to fire. Check the ignition coil is sending spark to the plugs with a spark plug tester.

Where are my spark plugs on my 2002 chrysler concorde

They are under the coils. Remove the coils and there will be a spark plug under each one. A total of six.

My car is not starting and dont have spark

This is general info. Does this car have a crankshaft sensor? Ignition coil good? What about the electronic ignition module? I'm not familiar with Chryslers but I know Fords and Chevys had them and it was always a problem in the life of the vehicles. Good luck!

2.7 l misfire after changing plugs

From karjunkie:

If the plugs get wet, then you have a spark problem somewhere in the ignition system. Pull a spark plug and hold it against a ground while you turn the engine over. You need to see a fat blue spark. If not, check the distributor, spark plug wires and coils. An easy way to test for spark is with an inexpensive spark tester. This is a device that is readily available at most auto supply stores. If the plugs do not fire properly, check the spark plug wires for fraying or cracking. Next, you need to check the coil(s). If firing voltage is low (weak spark), measure the coil primary and secondary resistance with an ohmmeter. If it is out of specifications, replace the coil. Also, make sure the coil is receiving normal voltage from the PCM or ignition module. If it is low, check the charging system for anything that may be reducing alternator output (battery and alternator cable connections, ground connections and voltage output).
