Question about 1990 Volkswagen Cabriolet
I have a 90 VW cabriolet, things are working fine except that flashing red light. i sent it to the shop & they changed the thermostate for it. it worked fine for 3 months & it flashed again. they chnaged a new thermo for me but after 3 month, the problem came back again. it's not really overheat just the temperature gauge went 3/4. then the shop changed the electric wiring, the senser in the coolant reservoir & even the coolent reservoir cap. now the problem still there. so what should i do??
Hi, vws are very tricky when it comes to cooling sistem, they never get completly full of antefrezze and they need to be bleed in order to work properly , you can disconect the uper radiator hose to fill the sistem ,you must wait for the air to come out,be patient .good luck

I have the same problem. Three different shops couldn't fix it, but it's just an inconvenience. The car isn't really overheated. I just learned to ignore it.
