The fuel pump is burned out or a wire is shorting to ground. If the car was working fine then the fuse burned out then it is probably the fuel pump..

03 Dodge Stratus fuel pump fuse keeps blowing

Very good (NOT)! You do realize that the fuel pump sits inside the fuel tank and a shorted wire is the wrong thing to keep electrically active in gasoline fumes, right?

If the radiator is dirty and it reaches a certain temp will the motor shut off till it cools downs or is this a fuel pump problem on 2000 dodge stratus 2.5 v6

would not think so
Indicates an electronic parts failure from overheating a component
Possible a fault code reading will indicate the faulty sensor
Items affect are crank/cam position sensor , ignition control module , coil, ECM, Immobilizer

1998 Dodge Stratus

i think you have corroded wires around the fuel pump harness creating a short circuit which is probably blowing the fuse.

98 stratus won't start

Check the fuel shutoff valve. to see if it is on. press the reset button to do this. if it stays on. The answer could be pinched wires (a short) from the fuse wiring back towards the shutoff valve. if the valve shuts off try checking for current with a test light. if no current . The valve is bad. it seems like a short or open circuit on the fuel system wiring.
