Question about 2007 Dodge Caliber SXT Sport Hatchback

1 Answer

Transmission I was on my way home, and the car slowed down, but first was hearing a grinding sound, and then I put the car into park. It still wouldn't do anything. I started the car and put it into drive, but it went reverse, so I need to know what is wrong

Are you sure you don't have any warranty left on that transmission ? Did you buy it new, or used ? Not prying just know that powertrain had a pretty good factory warranty.

I have a 1991 Toyota Camry 4 cylinder automatic transmission. I was driving about 10 mph when it just stopped moving. The engine starts and runs fine but when I put it in drive or reverse it won't drive....

You have internal problems with it. Clutches are bad, or could be a hard part broken. The grinding is from the inside of the transmission turn and you put it in park. This is a normal sound, if you were driving and slammed it in park. Except your not moving.

My1997 gran prix makes grinding noise when put in park

Sounds like either one of the axle shafts came out of the transmission or a cv joint broke. I bet when in park you can still roll the car.

Tis a transfer case issue. Could be shifting fork wear pads worn out which will wear the fork ends to where their bent.

you have a broken output shaft on the transmission or a brocken universal joint the grinding you hear is the parking pawl trying to engage make sure the wheels are blocked so the car does not roll away,

Your diff could be going out or the transmission is having issues. Does your burb have a Locker in the rear? My 02 had the Locking Differential and i blew two of them up; a mile from home it busted so i put it in 4wheel and drove back on the front axle, the rear was spinning freely then it locked up and i came to a very quick stop- any sounds while taking tight turns?

1984 Honda Accord Transmission Grinding

I would recommend you take it to 3 different repair shops to get quotes on the cost of repairs.
Sounds internal to me .
Automatic transmissions are best left to the Pro's to fix , You need alot of tools and a very very very clean workshop for starters.
Hope this helps , Sorry I couldn't offer a quick fix.

Possible Tranny problem...

I am sorry to have to tell you this but it sounds to me like your transmission is shot and will need a rebuild. If you can get it to a transmission shop they will tell you 100% what wrong with it. .
