You need to inspect the exhaust system the catalytic heat shield can make this noise also a missing exhaust hanger can make this noise

A noise on a slow turn from the rear even though check the exhaust for displacement, also step on the brakes and put the car in gear this should also increase the noise if it is coming from exhaust(dont do it that long) if it was a plactic it would make a dull thumping noise, also the rear suspension radial arm is most prone to wear

okay will get that checked .. and what about the noise in front .. its a thumping noise when i go over bumps ..

Motor mount does the engine move in gear? even though you repalced the struts or shock the upper bearing plate can shift when you go over a bump

I have a 2006 Mazda 6. The rear end makes a clunking noise after I just put new shocks in rear?

The clunking noise you're hearing from the rear of your 2006 Mazda 6 after installing new shocks could be caused by a few different issues. Here are a few possibilities:
  1. Loose or worn suspension components: If any of the suspension components are loose or worn, they can make a clunking noise when the vehicle moves over bumps or uneven surfaces.
  2. Misaligned or damaged control arm bushings: The control arm bushings can become misaligned or damaged, which can cause a clunking noise when the vehicle is driven.
  3. Worn sway bar links: The sway bar links connect the sway bar to the suspension and if they are worn, they can cause a clunking noise when the vehicle is driven.
  4. Improper installation of the new shocks: The clunking noise may be caused by improper installation of the new shocks, such as not tightening the bolts properly.
It's best to have a professional mechanic take a look and diagnose the issue. They will be able to identify the specific cause of the noise and make the necessary repairs.

How do i fix upper control arm bushings

You will need the entire control arm if you don't have the required tools to press out and press in the new bushings....This repair is better left to a professional due to the hazards involved with the spring that holds the vehicle up. It has A LOT of stored energy when it is compressed!

Loud clunking noise in front end over bumps

This is most likely one or both of these:

The intermediate steering shaft loses lubrication and develops a clunk - this is an engineering deficiency in many GM products dating back to the early 90s.

and/or

The electrically assisted steering column actually has plastic gears in it which wear down quickly, get sloppy and cause clunking through the steering wheel.

If your car is out of warranty, this will be expensive.

GM knows about both of these issues, and continues to engineer these problems into their products.
