Question about 1996 Dodge Dakota
I have a 1996 Dakota with the 3.9 Liter. I lost spark. I replaced the Hall Effect pick up and the Crank sensor. The Ignition fuse is good. I bought a repair manual and attempted to diagnose the problem. When following the manual to test the coil and the distributor I had a problem because the illustration pics were not the same. I am getting a negative voltage reading on one of the coil wires. Any ideas? Can you tell me what kind of reading I should be looking for from my voltage meter on the coil wire or such.
Switch your ac relay and asd relay see if helps

I had a very similar problem with my 95 dakota. I had recently changed my alternator, after which my truck would not start, due to no spark. I retraced all my wires from the coil and computer and came across a ground wire that i missed putting on when i reinstalled my alternator. It went under one of the alternator mounting bolts. after reconecting that ground wire the truck started and ran fine. Its amazing how something so simple caused me so much trouble.
