go to the wreckers /junk yard and get a replacement

Replace it, very easy. Look at Amazon or EBay for great prices on aftermarket handles.

Unfortunately as our cars age, interior plastic breaks, especially if the vehicle has never had its windows tinted and its been parked outdoors in the direct sun. Replacement of interior handles is relatively easy and can typically be done without removing the door panel. Although I have had to pull some panels off and had other be a royal pain in the **** to replace. There is typically a metal rod connected to a plastic loop on the handle. I would try to purchase new components rather then used (especially plastic) since you do not know the history of the used parts. I would also buy genuine Toyota parts since these tend to last longer then the aftermarket clone. Good Luck

The locking mechanism is manufactured with carbon composite and plastic levers that the door handles attach to. It is hard to tell what parts that you do need. Remove the passenger side door panel. It will have some screws and maybe a bolt on the inside handle. The panel has snap plug on it and they fit into designated hole in the door. After getting the door panel off, be careful here, there are sharp metal edges that can cut. There are some peep hole to see the rods and connector inside the door. If the plastic hooks on the door locking mechanism are broken. The hole door lock assembly will need to be replaced.

Try your local wrecking yards and tell them what type of vehicle you have and year. Also, state what door it is and what you will need.

Now, if the interior door hand hook on the lock mechanism isn't broke off. The get a cloths hanger and straighten it out and attach it to the opening latch on locking mechanism. This will give you inside temporary handle, while you are trying to fix the door. Safety. GB...stewbison

the 1999 suburban interior door handles are plastic you cannot adjust them, only if they have came of the screws, usualy replacing them is the only solution... remove the small plactic cover behind the door handle and check to see if you have any broken parts on the handle you will notice if there is if you see like a whitish strecht mark on your beige or grey handle

You should open the door first...take the interior trim panel off, access the "innards" of your door. It could be as simple as a clip that needs to be reattached or replaced or it could be the handle itself. Open up your door and move the handle and watch the attaching points to make sure it's all attached and in the correct number of pieces...

IF THE HANDDLES ARE FROZEN HOW DO YOU GET IN AND OUT OF THE VEHICLE? THIS HAPPENED TO ME. I HAD TO REMOVE DOOR PANEL AND CHANGE PLASTIC CLIP FROM INTERIOR PULL HANDLE TO LOCK MECHANNISM A 99CENT PLASTIC PART THAT BROKE

you will need a t-20 or t-15 torx bit driver to remove 2 screws holding the handle this is all that holds them on, on once you have a replacement handle it is easier to remove 2 lower screws on the door panel and unsnap the door panel to loosen it this will allow space making it easier to reinstall new handle just slide each end into the slot and reinsert 2 screws to not fully tighten until door panel is snapped back in. the panel is held on with clips and can be released using plastic pry tool around door panel edges.

There's two screws by the handle, pull those out and you'll see how it all connects on the inside. I was able to remove my broken one, and drill a hole into the plastic where it broke and reuse it - it's lasted over 4 years now.
