There is a vacuum line that runs from the passenger side middle top of the engine, around the back of the engine and then around to he drivers side of the engine. There are a couple of rubber elbows that like to rot. A carefully inspection of theses parts may reveal one of these.
When you say looses power do you mean even the dash lights? If not you should consider replacing the cam sensor. When it goes bad it seems like the batt is dying because of mis-timing of the spark. And it also feels like you have turned the key off while driving sometimes.
That doesn't sound right, I'd suggest getting the spoeedo checked. Even if you had the close ratio gear box which I think was fitted to the 4 cylinder engines, your speedo should be showing 160 km/h at 5000rpm in 5th.
try checking youre abs sensors on all for wheels.clean them up with wd-40 or similer. they get a bit dirty & can cause dramas.
OR on the rhf brake calliper & lhr brake calliper there is a sensor for brake pad wear indicators. either your pads are low or the little copper 'U' clip has fallen out. check them and see how you get on.
