sounds like you're wasting lots of cash. Check engine codes? take it to a shop and pay by returning all the unneeded parts? call a cab?
Please tell me you can use a multimeter and read a manual.

Replacing cam on 351m pulled msd distributer out with the order correct but number 1 on distributer was facing toward the front of the motor seemed to run fine but all diagrams show it toward back side

Looking from the front of the vehicle...if you look at the left side of the engine the plug wires should be as follows from front to back 1-2-3-4 then the right side is 5-6-7-8 Firing order us 1-3-7

I have a 1998 chevy 350 that is backfiring through carbourator. Tried everything, three different mechs cannot solve. Please help, Regards, Andre

just a thought, but , if engines are basically stock in nature, putting high performance electrics into them like MSD distributor was a wrong decision . I would replace them with a more stock distributor setup, my reasons are based on my own experience with my 1988 gmc 350. tryed to get a greater spark, more bang for my buck, it ran , but when my mechanic tryed to perform an emissions test , I had your same problem, even fire exploding out of carburator, he literally blew a gasket @ me, almost burned his arm off. he races cars for a hobby, first thing he said was to put back the stock distributor & coil, I did , success ! in coclusion, you have too much fire (spark) and your timming might need adjusted a bit ! HOPE THIS SHEDS SOME LIGHT !

I have a 92 mustang it turns over normal speed Its getting fuel but not spark. I've replaced The msd coil, msd ignition box, distributer, Silinoid switch, key switch, and the Ignition switch in the...

Since you are getting good spark, I would guess first that your timing is too far off. Use a timing light to check the timing since the distributor was replaced. If your timing is too far advanced or retarded it wont fire up, but do exactly as you mention. Also, be sure your firing order is correct.

85 dodge 360 no spark replaced, coil , ign switch, condesor , replaced distributer , wires, plugs , coil is getting power to it at 13.3 volts

I would suspect the ignition control if you have already replaced all that stuff. I personally would replace it with an MSD ignition for better running and fuel mileage, but the ignition module should be a whole lot cheaper.

Msd distributer

What exactly are you trying to fix? I use the stock type 3-wire distributor in my 68 Mustang and use an MSD 6AL box with a Blaster II coil. What's your truck doing? Why are you going to replace the distributor? Need more info. in order to help you fix your problem. Shoot me an email tiqautoperformance@live.com. I'd be more than happy to help you through your problem. I an owner/operator of an auto repair/hot rod shop. I specialize in Fords.
