1999 Mercury Marquis Problem

The problem is that the lights go on and off inside and outside of the car and you never know when it will happen. I turned the head lights off, but the inside still goes on and off by themselves and I take the keys out of the switch.
I even removed the fuse for the radio....

This resolves in a dead battery over time.
Had it to the Ford/Mercury garage but to no avail.

We bought the lighting control module from Ford garage, put it in yeserday and it still does the same thing.

After paying $500.00 for the part, I thought the problem would be solved!

Do you have another idea. I'm just watching my battery go dead.

I have the same problem, my lights turn off and on. the relay switch is clicking while the lights go on and of until i turn the car off and back on again. If you here click click , click click as the lights are going on and off then its a relay switch that needs replacing. I havent looked into the price yet but let me know what has happened with yours.

Same as described. Interior lights come on unexpectedly. Dealer not able to find problem. Suspected water. Then suspect the radio signal from police or garage door opener. Currently, problem mysteriously went away.

Which is the check engine fuse on 1999 mercury grand marquis

There is no such fuse; the check engine light comes on when the OBD system detects a malfunction or a sensor that is operating outside the pre set perimeters.
You can turn the light off by scanning and erasing the code(s), but that is just an band aide solution; the proper way is to diagnose the reason for the check engine light being on and fix that problem.

How do you change the outside tail and brake light in the rear of a 1997 Mercury grand marquis? Tail light assembly seems sealed. Is there a trick to changing the bulbs or is this a major endeavor?

Move trunk interior inside fenderwell. There are 4 retaining nuts that hold the outer light assy. Remove those nuts and pull assy straight out so as not to damage plastic studs. Rotate bulb socket counterclockwise and and replace with correct bulb

I have a 1999 mercury grand marquis and the turn signals have stopped working. I checked all the fuses and they are good.

The bad about these are if the flasher is bad than it's internal inside the steering wheel there is no flasher for these outside of the column except the interceptor models i have one my self and mine whent out too. I also changed the blinker bulbs because there double fillament and if one fillament goes they tend to flash really fast. This is from experience
