Question about 2006 Chrysler Town & Country

1 Answer

I have a 2006 Chrysler Town & Country and have been told the air conditioner rear evaporator core needs to be replaced at a cost of $1,000. The car has 39,000 miles on it. Have you heard of similar problems with the 2006 vehicles? Any help on this from the manufacturer?

2002 Chrysler Town and Country rear a/c turns on and sounds like it's working, but barely blows air.

Check the air intake for obstructions like plastic bags and clogged evaporator cores.

The air conditioner has a leak in the passenger/ rear side. what has to be replaced and how much will it cost?

I just gave a customer an estimate on that the other say. You can easily expect $1,000 - $1,500 dollars to repair this. Usually one of two things happens. 1. The rear lines rot out, in which case the repair will be less. 2. What usually happens is the expansion valve rots out. The screws that hold the expansion valve to the EVAP core are usually seized so the EVAP core will also need to be replaced. Sometimes the lines can be reused and sometimes they can not. This would be the worst case scenario.

Air conditioner only works on high 99 chrysler town and country van we change the switch and the motor and it still doen't work on lower settings

you need a blower resistor maybe a blower motor also but the resistor is for speeds and it usually goes when the blower motor starts to draw too much power the resistor is outside under the cowl on the passanger side you may need a connector pigtail also the dealer will have what you need

2006 Town & Country no air conditioning

The plug kit was maybe a 10 dollar part + freon & labor you could have gotten it cheaper, evaporator leakage would be common on any make but seems chrysler has had more of them because there are more of them on the road compared to the other makes.Climate (salt belt region) and vibration are contributing factors to failure but that will apply to any vehicle no matter the make.

Town & Country 2007 LX model aircondition not working

It does have air conditioning installed. It may also have rear a/c. The rear a/c evaporator is probably leaking freon. I have replaced many rear evaporators on 2006 and 2007 Chrysler minivans as a result of a design change in 2006. Recharge the a/c and add dye to the system. If it has rear air, look behind the right rear wheel in the fender area under the car where the a/c lines go into the body.
