Parts stores often have a part location diagram which may help. These filters are often behind the glove box, which may have to be removed to get at it, but sometimes are below it. the throttle body is where the black round air recieving hose that goes to the throttle body which is on top of the engine, it normally has 2 medium size metal bands, 1 on each end, that tightened up or loosen. " in order to get to the throttle body, loosen the bands with a screwdriver, then remove the hose, then , you can clean the throttle body, with a throttle body spray cleaner, that you can purchase at a auto parts store.
Sounds to me like the mass airflow meter, cutting in and out. When faulty it can completely shut a car off, and also ingauge limp mode. I hope this helps. Let me know how you get on.
Hey! Me too same problem. Just a slight increase in RPM after putting car in reverse or drive and with foot on the brake, presumably brake light circuit lit. Just enough to be startling, then annoying. And yes, the dealer said it registers as possible problem with the throttle body, but then cant't repeat the problem. I am thinking maybe there is a current leakage into the fuel injection system from the brake light circuit because that's the only time it seems to happen.
