Question about 2001 Chevrolet Tracker
How to replace a timming chain in 2001 tracker. and do they jump time also do they tear any thing else up
If the engine sounds like its got no compression and just spins over really fast when you crank it, If its related to the cold, its not the timing chain. The top end needs to be cleaned because the valves are hanging in the heads. Have a "MOTORVAC" done to it at a shop and run fully synthetic oil in it. should solve the problem. GOOD LUCK!

Hi,If you are mechanicly inclined replacing the timing belt should be simple ,If the car still runing be sure to aling the timing marks perfect and make a note of the position in a piece of paper,If not you can get the specs at the auto parts where you get the belt ...YES they can jump do to wear and they can cause valves to bend ,this can also cause major engine damage....
