What is the recommended mileage for a cambelt change on a renault traffic ?

1.6 Cooper is chain driven, not got a cam belt.

Reset the cambelt in position and tension, then do a compression test before wasting money on sorting a new cambelt
it maybe cheaper to get a replacement engine than rework the head.

80.000 miles or five years depending on climate ,they go quicker in a hot climate ,what model renault is this as this web site only lists american model cars and doesnt have a general section for people to use ,anyway this vehicle will be to advanced for you to do it yourself trust me on this you will need a special kit of tools for this job ,expensive ,

Hi,you should change cambelt pully(there is a bearing inside pully before it worn out completely,it will cause high friction and heat to burn out your bell and rattling noise).buy cambelt pully from the dealer then take it to the garage ask them to put it in for you (labor about 30.00 dollars)...the rest is ok to wait until 150.000 miles.
