Hi,
Your post removing and re-installing will work is significant in itself. It indicates a loose or corroded connection most probably in the terminals of the bulb socket. Next time you remove the bulb, pls pay likewise check/clean the terminals inside the bulb housing/socket, they may need a bit of scraping cleaning. In some instances, it could be the socket itself, perhaps the grounding/body. Cleaning and spraying with WD40 should help out. You can also try pushing in the socket terminal to play/exercise the spring at the back of the terminal base.

Could be a high resistance problem at brake sensor, like poor contact, make sure it is clean and tie, and free of moisture
