it stalls when driving or if i go somewhere it wont start for me to go home

  • Anonymous Jan 03, 2009

WE have had the Pt Turbo for 2 1/2 years now and we've been in the shop at least 4 times for stalling issues. We just go it back today and were told that they went on an educated guess and hope that they have fixed the car. We've taken the issue to head office and CAMVAC and now the dealership manager is willing to make a few phone calls. I think it is in his best interest to negotiate a plan with us or we are prepared to contact the media. Leaving me on a highway, at left had turns, in stopped situations where I'd be expect to gas up and go, isn't the most comforting feelings and I certainly don't want to drive it anymore. However, we have the car and cannot afford to pay for two cars. Why should we pay for the rest of the lease when it is a lemon and a safety hazard???? I sure hope that the dealership's manager comes through on this one.

I have a 2003....10 repir shops and 2 dealers and no answer. Start car up. Put in reverse, backup, put it in drive and it stalls, then struggles to start again...for 3 months now....and it is sporadic. Thank god it doesn't happen on the thruway at 75 miles per hour!

wife's 2005 pt stalls all of the time, keep taking it to dealer because it is still under warranty but only for 6000 more miles and they claim there is nothing wrong with it. I am thinking fuel filter but everyone says that doesn't need to be changed for 120000. so what do i do now?

ever do a 60k mile tuneup this decade?
does fast right foot save the stall???????? key question !
  1. lost 12vdc power to EFI.
  2. if random stalls its not lost compression
  3. bad spark (tuneup time?) lost spark , kills all gas engines.
  4. bad fueling. too much or too little.
  5. if all above is good, then the ISC is stuck closed. lean it.

My 93 cutlass ciera c stalls as if out of gas after about 5 min it starts

Sounds like fuel pump may be going out. Check fuel pressure to see if it is within specifications and steady pressure. Next time car stalls, lightly bang on the fuel tank with a rubber mallet or screwdriver handle about 10 times, then try to restart the car. If fuel pump is going out, this helps "free it up" and the car will start. It will only last a short while though and stall again.

Tahoe stalls when turning

I had this exact problem and a fuel induction service fixed the problem immediately! The fix was recommended by my local Chevy dealer. I have had to do the service 2 other times since (when my truck starts to shows signs of stalling increasing over time to actually stalling) and each time it fixes the problem. Only costs $125 at Chevy!

1993 Ford Escort 1.9L Auto Randomly Stalls

I don't have the solution, but I have the same exact problem on my 1991 Escort 1.9L with auto with 120K miles. I replaced the IAC with no difference. In fact I unplugged it, and still had the random stalling. Also disconnected the EGR vacuum line...still stalled randomly. After it stalls it always starts right back up again. Sometimes it will act as if it's going to stall, but comes back to normal idle. Park or Drive makes no difference. Acceleration and all normal driving is fine. The next thing I was going to try is hooking up a timing light and watch to see if the timing light stops flashing as it's stalling, and/or hooking up a fuel pressure gauge somehow, to the fuel rail, to see if the pressure drops when stalling....to figure out if its ignition or fuel related.

Stalled 3 times wille making a turn

Could be fuel filter, idle air control valve, or idle control sensor, or a vacuum leak.
