Question about Toyota Sienna
Does the fuel gauge still work correctly? The short answer is that you should not routinely go below about 1/4 tank anyway, because the fuel pump is in the bottom of the gas tank and is cooled by the gas. When you get below three gallons or so (or 10 liters), the fuel pump runs hotter than it should, and if you do this a lot, you will seriously shorten the life of the pump. And that's an expensive repair.
Generally the light is designed to come on when you only have about one gallon (4 liters) remaining, and that is too low to cool the pump properly. So if you fill up when you should, you don't need to worry about this.
