Question about Pontiac Sunfire
That is a tough one. The new style cavilers appear to be similar. The best way that I have found to do it is to wait until the engine cools down and reach up inside with a pair of filter pliers and loosen it from the motor. The only way that I have found to get the filter out of the car is to pry back on the spring loaded exhaust pipe until the filter just slips through. It is definitely harder then changing the oil on a 72 Lemans. I hope this information is helpful to you and thank you for using Fixya.com.
