Question about 2004 Buick Rendezvous

2 Answers

I own a 2004 Buick Rendezvous, its a 3.4 liter engine and it's leaking coolant from an elbow on the engine firewall, on the passenger side. It only happens when the heater or the a/c is on. Would you be able to send me a diagram of the engine firewall so I can see what I'm looking at? Or can you explain to me what is going on?

One of the hoses to the heater core is leaking. The heater core is charged with hot coolant in order
to heat the passenger compartment of the car when the heater is activated. There are two
hoses that pierce the firewall: an input hose to the heater core (from the engine), and the
return hose, which returns coolant to the engine.

Heater hose replacement - according to Autozone
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sometimes the heater hoses on a car are two different diameters. The size is determined by the inside diameter (ID) of the hose. Hose comes in long rolls. Be sure that you select the correct size hose before cutting it off the main hose roll.
Twist the old heater hose to loosen it, and cut it carefully with a sharp knife if it does not remove easily. When installing the new section of hose, check the following:

  • Be certain that the hose does not interfere with manifolds, belts or spark plug wiring.
  • Check to see that the hose will not be damaged by movement of the engine or accessories.
Position the screw side of the clamp for easy access. On lower radiator hoses, an extra long screwdriver can be used from the top of the engine compartment. Be sure to screw the hose clamp is positioned so it cannot accidentally come into contact with the cooling fan.

That elbow goes to the heater core. Just go to a auto parts store, and ask them for a new elbow, remove and replace and everything will be just fine. The heater core controls the heat and cooling for the cabin of the vehicle.

Is there any fluid leaking onto the floor of the passenger side of the vehicle?

O2 sensor bank 1 sensor 1 same side as cylinder 1 the sensor before the cat. If engine is facing forward, belts in front it would be on the passenger side. If engine is sideways belts on passenger side, the sensor would be by firewall before cat.

2003 Buick rendezvous floor board is staying damp. what could cause this

Have you noticed the smell of coolant inside the car? If you're in a cooler climate, does your defroster put a slippery coating on your windshield on cold days? If you answered yes to either of these, you may have a leak in the heater core in your HVAC system. Check to see if your coolant level is going down. If so, you need to have the heater core replaced.

If this is not the case, and you run your air conditioning often in a humid climate, the hose that empties condensation from your HVAC unit may be plugged (it is usually found low on the engine side of the firewall, on the passenger side). If you do not notice water dripping under your car with the air conditioner running, this may be the case.

Where is the starter located on a 2004 Buick Rendezvous?

3.4 liter?

Crawl under the car and look in between the radiator and the engine on the drivers side where the engine bolts to the transmission. It will be just to the drivers side of the oil filter.

Where is the vent valve solenoid located on a 2003 buick rendezvous

The evaporator drain tube a 2003 Buick Rendezvous is very difficult to find. It will be located on the firewall, in the middle or on the passenger side. You might have to get under the vehicle to find it.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Coolant leak 1994 voyager 3.3

Could be a freeze plug on the engine block. If you have a block heater installed in one of the freeze plug holes, check it for getting too loose and leaking. Pretty common problem with a block heater that's been in there a long time.

There is a drain tube that goes out of the firewall to drain out moisture. If it is clogged it can cause an overflow.Clean out the tube.If that's not the problem,The heater core could be leaking.A tell tail sign of that is a sweet smell in the cabin of the vehicle accompanied by moisture on the inside of the windshield.

Coolant leak close to firewall from 90 degree rubber elbow. 93 pontiac 2.3 liter. It looks like there is a hose missing. Is this an overflow or am I missing a hose? If I am where does it lead?

hoses at the firewall connect the heater core inside the car to the engines coolant system.there are 2 heater hoses.the hose may have deteriorated or if the90* elbow has a clamp at the firewall end and is loose, the inlet tube of the heater core may be broken.use a flashlight for closer inspection.rapid coolant loss will result either way.

Wet floor passanger side

Air conditioning drain stopped up with debris (leaves, pine straw, sticks). Small tube sticking out from firewall with rubber elbow pointing down behind engine, passenger side. If elbow missing air will cause water to back up into vehicle. Another possibility, if your coolant is low heater core leaking.
