Question about Plymouth Voyager

1 Answer

My 96 Plymouth Voyager overheats when not moving. Neither fan is working and the corresponding fuse was burned. I replaced the fan fuse and the problem persists with the new fuse intact. The diagnostic code I found for it was p0300. Can you tell me what the code indicates please. Thanks!....****

MY MECHANIC REPLACED THE RADIATOR ONN 1999 VOYAGER,HE COULD NOT GET FAN TO WORK SO HE HOT WIRED IT TO THE BATTERY,HE GOT A SENSOR BUT CANT FIGURE OUT WHERE IT GOES- HELP!

HACK! the radiator relay is probably bad, located down near radiator left lower corner, bolted to frame, have to get at it from underneath. Be sure fuse #24 (40 amp) is good. A scanner should activate the fan if the relay is good, if not its probably bad, Make sure the fan does not pull more than 20 amps when running, if it does, that could have burned up the relay.

Fans will not turn on when turned on...and van overheats...97 plymouth voyager.

I would start with your temperature sending unit. This can be found by following the wires from the fan back to the sending unit. You might also check your fan relays, these will be in the fuse box, not sure exactly which one it is, check the diagram.

Radiator fan does not work

The main issue is, does the car overheat? If not, then it's probably a thermostat that's stuck open. A lot of things can fail in the fan system...the fan motor itself, a fuse, a relay, or the temperature sensor that tells the fan to turn on.

The engine overheats during idle in traffic. I think that the fans are not turning on. Is this usually a fuse?

No. Sounds like either a fan motor or a coolant fan switch which is located on the engine near the thermostat housing or installed on the head.
