You need to see what the Code is. There is a common problem with the Throttle Cable being installed and not enough slack in the cable. There are 2 cables (Cruise and Accelerator). You need to confirm that it is the P1517 code and then more than likely, you need to loosen the cable and reset the light.

Resetting the light is easiest by going to your local Auto Parts store and using their OBD-II scanner and clear (Erase) the light.

Just Remember that you MUST have the slack in the cable or you will continue to get the code popping back on

sounds as if the accelerater cable broke, when you were able to throttle under the hood did you happen to notice if the accelerater cable was moving freely.

Acceleration is not working

when you press the gas can you hear the engine accelerate if you can then that means it is your transmission if you cant it is your gas cable linkage just snap you can just replace it by removing your engine cover then add a small nut and tie it to the end of your gas linkage strech it in to the plastic arm and you can then use it to take to your mechanic to fix it properly

the best thing to do at this point is to have the diagnostic trouble codes read that may be stored in the memory of the on board computer, it is called the OBD 2 (on board diagnostics generation two) electronic engine control system.

EAC FAIL keeps coming on

EAC stands for electronic accelerator control. The problem is related to the accelerator pedal and fly-by-wire system.

Cures varied from a simple ECU update to a ECU replacement, depending what combination of fault codes you have stored.

I would take it back to the dealer and ask them to download the codes your car will have stored to see what the specific problem is.

Check engine light came on after i fixed the hole in my radiator

Really not too sure what a 'bioter' is! But anyway, remove the negative battery cable for about a minute. That should make the light go out! If not you will need to have the codes checked. OK Frankster016
