I can't remember what it means, but I remember reading it in the owners manual. Check your manual.

It is supposed to come on for a second or two when you turn on the key. If it remains on after starting then it means that you have a problem with your transmission and you should not drive the vehicle. It should be serviced as soon as possible. If it turns out to be a failed solenoid then you may not have adequate flow of fluid through your transmission. The fluid provides cooling and you can trash the trans in a hurry.

What is the upside down lightbulb with the exclamation mark//warning light on dash? What is the E code on the dash that pops up where it usually sats "PRND"?

it sounds like you are talking about your "Tire Pressure indicator" light on your dash. you have to check your tire pressure and follow the instructions in your owners manual to reset your tire pressure indicator.

I have a light on my dash with an exclamation point enclosed in what looks like parenthesis with verticle lines underneath. It's yellow. Do you know what it is?

If it looks like a deflating tire with an exclamation mark inside, its the check your tire pressure light.

If its a triangle with exclamation mark inside its the check engine light.
