I have a 2003 chevy trailblazer. There is a tapping noise at startup when the engine is cold and it goes away when the vehicle gets warm. What do you think it could be?

There was a recall on the 2002 and some 2003 made in late 2002. Gm was replacing engines under this recall. If your not covered under this warr, check to see if there are small chips or metal in the intake. That engine was known for cracking cylinder sleeves .

What do i need to replace to fix error code p0700 on a 2002 dodge intrepid

(DTC) CODE # P0700....Transmission Control System (MIL Request) Translation: Transmission Control Module (TCM) Malfunction or Failure. P0700 Information Code The Transaxle Control Module (TCM) monitors the malfunction of sensors and actuators relating to transaxle control. If any malfunction is detected, the TCM informs the PCM by sending a signal (P0700 code). P0700 means that a code has been set in the TCM. This code is for information ONLY. If this code is present, check for transaxle codes. So basically, the P0700 code is telling you to check the TCM for a transaxle DTC. The TCM can not turn on the check engine light so it has the PCM do it.

I hope this helps....let me know if I can assist further !!

What is a kia rio p1800 error code mean?

the code is for engine torque signal malfunction.its either a short to voltage or ground in between engine computer and transmission computer. or a bad trans computer [tcm] manuel says check for shorts or bad connections at the connectors from ecm to tcm then states if no wire problems found then try a new tcm and if problem goes away then install new tcm.i know those instructions are lame but it comes from the kia service manuel. there are no tsb or recalls listed for that code. so i would recomend take to dealer because they would have a known good tcm to if you bought the car new then the 10 year 100,000 mile warranty may still be in effect beings how its a powertrain issue so if less than 100,000 miles and you bought it new it wouldnt hurt to ask them if it might be covered

I recently had to have the transmission rebuilt. When the mechanic was finishing up he told me that it needed a TCM as well. After that it still ran rough, shaking and all. My check engine light has been...

A 2002 is not an "older car".
You should easily be able to get 15 years out of any decent car.

But the PCM and TCM are not likely bad.

First start with a simple tuneup, with plugs, wires, etc.
Then you try diagnostics on the fuel injection, such as temp, O2, and air mass sensors, as well as filter, fuel pressure, etc.
Then check things like ERG valve, fuel vapor purge valve, etc.

The last thing you do is give up and buy new control modules.
