No. If the starter just clicks then you could actually have a weak battery and you can replace it but you can also try and get your vehicle jumped by another to see if it is indeed the starter or the battery.

My 2003 Toyota Echo just quit starting, with out warning.

starter or solenoid could be the problem.
remove and take to parts store for a bench test.
the solenoid is usually mounted on the starter.

My darango won't start, replaced that alternator and relays. starter is still good. but it won't even click over.

this could be as simple as a bad battery have you tryed to jump start it? if you try and that dosent work make sure you have power going to the starter with jumper cables on the battery. it should at the very least make a clicking sound while trying to start it check the battery posts also make sure they are clean and if it does click give it a minute and try starting it again.[ dont take the cables off the battery while waiting] the fact the starter doesent even click when you try to start it tells me no power to it or bad starter remember just because its new dosent mean it works i cant tell you how many times i have put somethig on a car and had to take it back off because it didnt work from the boxx new. and make sure the starter wires are tight and clean. if no clicking and you have power to starter then starter is bad.. i hope this helps..

2000 kia sportage. replaced starter, battery, alt. Timing belt in great shape. I only get a click when trying to start. Any ideas?

get a socket to fit the crank pulley nut and try turning over the engine by hand if it turns you might have a bad cable to the starter or bad starter but if you cant turn it this means its locked up and seized no good.

Battery check ok only click when try to start cant even see the starter motor?

Clean both post and terminals by removing the terminals. the clicking sound, sound like not having a good ground or contact knowing the battery is good. I would also try to eliminate the battery and bad ground and starter, To see if your starter is good, go ahead and have someone jump your car by attaching the cable as Positive directly to your car Positive post and the Negative to your car good ground contact. do not hook it up to your car negative post. If the car start, than your starter is fine. If it doesn't start than you have a bad ground or weak battery. Replace battery or clean ground. If it does not turn your engine over than you have a bad starter. hope that help some.

Two days after I had a new starter installed in my 02 durango, the A/C quit and there was a loud "blower" noise coming from the engine compartment. I lifted the hood and the noise was from the serpentine...

It sounds like the a/c compressor bearnig has gone bad and seized, but check the other pully bearing like the idler and tension bearing just to eleiminate the other bearing for failure. Good luck and keep me posted. If it is the compressor bearing that went bad, you can remove the a/c compressor and buy a serpintine belt that is smaller for your dodge without the a/c compressor. Make sure you know the routing of the belt without the compressor. Good luck and keep me posted.
