Hello, this is almost always a bad hazard flasher. the flasher is part of the hazard switch on the dash. sometimes you can push in and out on the hazard switch several times to get them the lights to work. usually replacing the switch will take care of your problem. here is a picture of the switch that is the problem.

Turn signal lights don't work

The first place to start are fuses, check your owners manual for location, typically left side of dash.

The emergency (hazard) flashers and turn signals are on separate fuses and run through the hazard switch. If all the lights work when the hazard switch is on then the problem will likely be a blown turn signal fuse.

Other possibilities are the hazard switch itself is bad, the turn signal switch is bad or a broken wire, all of which require a meter (or test light) wiring diagram and knowledge of the circuit to test it - better to have it done.

2005 Impala, directional signals inoperative. Flashers are working. Replaced the hazard warning switch. Still no directional signals, hazards work. Now, car will not start.Buzzing sound from hazard sw

There is a good possibility that the hazard warning and directional signal lights have nothing to do with the starting or operation of the engine. There are many things that might cause the car to fail to start. The battery must be fully charged, and in good working condition. No corrosion on the terminals. good solid connections. When you turn the key the starter motor should turn the engine over. If that works the carburetor will need gas. If you have gas and spark, the engine should run. Hope that helps.
Turn signals work with the tail lights and parking lights on the front. You should turn on the Head lights and check to see if the tail lights and parking lights come on. You will also want to check to see if the flasher is plugged in. All the light bulbs must be plugged in and working to operate the flasher for the turn signals. good luck

Turn signals .

This is probably the hazard switch in your steering column. A lot of Impalas are having that problem.

Here is a Forum with more information.

2002 impala signal lights and hazard lights not working

The turn signal flasher and hazard flasher are both incorporated into the hazard switch on the dashboard (yeah, they saw the money possibilities there). This is a common problem with the Impalas. Sometimes slowly pressing and releasing the hazard switch a few times will correct the problem. I have been told by some that if you get electrical contact cleaner and spray it into the hazard switch it helps also, Apparently dirt gets in and does the damage. Replacement of this hazard switch will fix this if nothing else works.

Hazard/turn signal dont work 2002 monte carlo will not fash nor turn on once in a while indicator light blink for a slight second

you could have a bad flasher unit causing this.you say hazard/flasher not working.do you mean just the signals not working and think the hazards won`t work or are the hazards not working.there are two flasher units one for signal and one for hazards.you could have a problem with the signal switch as well.

Turn signals on my 2002 chevy impala stop working Where would the flasher unit be located.

The relay switch is a plug-in located inside the dash near the tach about 2 O'Clock You will need to open the dash panel to replace it and your turn signals will work.
