Suspension parts are only covered on the basic 36k/3yr warranty!! If you are getting strut noises, this may be the bushings becoming worn(if normally driven it is rare for less than 100k vehicles). Cheack also control arm and sway bar bushings, as these are more likely to be worn than the strut bushings!!

How do i change rear struts on 2004 camary?

Hello, and welcome to FixYa. I'll be glad to help you out.

When you had the struts replaced, one of two things happened.

one - the rear strut retention bolts were not tightened up properly at the tops of the struts

two- the top supports on the struts were not replaced. Whenever we change the struts, we always replace the top supports. More than likely, this is your problem. The rear strut supports are notorious for wearing out, and, when they do, they make loud banging noises.

2004 Camry rear support part numbers:

Left: 48750-33062
Right: 48760-33062

I would suggest replacing the top supports to cure your problem.

Thank for choosing FixYa for advice!

I have a 2007 Camry and the check engine came on for one day then shut off. When hooked up to a computer it had a code for ECM and I was sent to the dealer. I was told it was under warranty but Toyota said...

The Toyota Factory Warranty for the Engine Control Module (the ECM) is 8 years/80,000 miles; from the date of first use.

Your ECM should be a covered item.
