Problem with Renault 2004 181

Renault Megane Scenic

MY renault seems to be misfiring, i have a warning light flashing telling me to check my emissions.. i took the car to a local garage but he was unable to locate the socket to plug in his fault finding equipment, and said it is usually within 12inches of the steering wheel? please this is urgent any help gratefully received Renault Megane Scenic 2004 model

    • hi.....have just bought a renault megane scenic (56) plate......the service warning light keeps coming on saying check emmissions, and it feels really sluggish when accelarating, when idling it feels like its gonna stall and the interior lights flicker, it has low mileage on the clock ......can any one shed any light on the solution?

    • our relaunt scenic megane 1.9 dci has been experiencing a few problems. the engine warning light is on with the message 'check emmissions', it is also sluggish and seems to be lacking any acceleration power. can anyone help?

    • have a 97 megane scenic 1.6 8v,today as i accelarated it lost power and started misfiring and sounded like a knocking from the top end...removed rocker cover to check for dropped valve or broken cam and all was well...any ideas???

    • Hi my Megan has an intermittent starting problems when you press the clutch down. Sometime it will start and other times its dead but will eventually start again, the car is an 05 plate and only has 17k miles on the clock so i don't think that its a worn clutch.     • hi i have exactly the same problem with my renault megne 1.4 8v 1997. It has been on the compuetr diagnostocs showing no faults. I have replaced the timing belt, throttle body, engine mounts, coolant sensor, oxygen sensor with no joy. Help will be much appreciated.

    • Hi, I have a similar problem with a 1.4 Scenic. When left to idle, engine speed reduces gradually until idle speed is so rough, engine almost cuts out. When throttle applied, engine does not always respond immediately - behaves as if starved of fuel. Have replaced all four coils - no improvement. Would be grateful for any advice.

my warning light comes on saying "check emissions" and the manual tells me to go to my Renault dealer immediately. What is wrong? Can we drive the car normally for any distance

renault megane 1.9dci check comes on injection and service light comes on when car is cold, has been on diagnostic machine and no faults found. what is wrong

It is most def the coil that needs replacing, if you have AA or RAC cover they will come out to you and it costs about 40 to replace, otherwise it costs a lot more if fixed at a garage. I am an expert as I have had to have all 4 coils replaced in last 2 years

    • I'm with green flag will they change a coil and how do you know it's the coil because nothing came up on the diginostics but car starts fine wen cold but wen warm it doesn't coil?

the socket is located under the centre console. slde the console back. there is a plastic panel there. pull it towards the windscreen to remove it. if the car is petrol it sonds like an ignition coil. if its a diesel it could be an injector. both easily fixed

my warning light for serius injection incident coolant temp light is on what is wrong
