Question about 1996 Ford Thunderbird LX

1 Answer

I cleaned my engine with a engine cleaner the part store recommended, rinsed after a few minutes. Now the car spudders, has no power and the engine light is blinking. i wiped all the pooling water i could around the engine and ignition coils. There is smoke coming from the radiator, the fan is not running but i do not see any coolant leaking. The radiator is new as well as the hose and thermostat. Is this something where the water needs to dry out or a more serious problem? My car is a 96 Thunderbird.

I found the problem was water in the fuel, I added this stuff called "heat" and it cleared it up almost instantly. A word of caution....DO NOT USE PURPLE POWER!

Check under the distributor cap for moisture, it doesn't take much to cause a misfire

Testimonial: "I did check for moisture on the ignition coils, wires, plugs and fuel injectors. Problem was water in the fuel. Purple Power is evil on the engine. "

My 2008 trailblazer is acting like it wants to die when it is idling. When I am driving its rpms run high and it starts spuddering.

Sounds like the TPS(Throttle Positioning Sensor) or the IAC(Idle Air Control) is malfunctioning. Sometimes these sensors malfunction because of a dirty throttle body. You should clean the throttle body out with throttle body cleaner first. After cleaning the throttle body out, start the vehicle. It will be slow starting and when it does start it will run rough but after a minute or two it will settle down. You will need to clear the trouble codes. Most major auto parts stores will do this for little or no charge. After clearing the trouble codes drive the vehicle. If the vehicle runs properly, no more is needed. If the vehicle still runs the same as before then continue to drive vehicle until the engine light comes back on. Read the codes and replace the defective sensor.

How often do your fuel injection cleaned on a 2012 Cadillac Srx

If you notice a power decrease or performance issues, but I recommend changing the fuel filter as a clogged filter can mimic bad or poorly performing injectors, try some Lucas fuel injector cleaner, and why you are at the parts store have them scan the cars on board computer, most do it free of charge and only takes a few minutes.
back to the filter, I change mine at least once a year. I don't care what the owners manual says ! locate filter here 2012 Cadillac Srx Google Search WIX filters are a better choice.

My 1988 honda civic spudders and will shut off when coming to a stop? it runs fine until i apply the brakes or slowing down? please help

This is often due to a dirty idle speed control valve and throttle valve, please do the following service.

To correct this problem I want you to get a can of intake cleaner (ABOUT $5.00) from any local auto parts store like NAPA or Carquest, do not use carburetor spray, intake cleaner only or u will damage the Teflon coating inside the throttle valve and air bypass valve, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.
