I started my 2002 jeep overland today in the morning and everything was fine. Drove to the gas station got gas went to start it nothing. No sound no lights just completely dead. I waited a few seconds and it started. I drove home parked it and shut it off. I noticed my gauges on the dash where going wacky when the car was off. I tried to start it again but nothing the car is completely dead. The day before I drove out to long island and everything was fine and I used the car all night. The battery is not old, could this be the alternator? If not do u know what is causing this?

I would first clean the battery post and clamps, as a bad connection can cause a vehicle to act like the battery is dead, you can either buy battery terminal cleaner( it comes in a spray can) or you can use coke and a wire brush. Hope this helped Tim

I have a 2006 Jeep Liberty and this morning when I started it up the engine light came on and at the same time the fuel gauge went from 1/2 full to empty. I drove to the gas station, put in $40, but i

It sounds like an onboard computer malfunction that would have to be analyzed at a competent mechanic outlet, to determine if the computer module needs repacing, or could be fixed.

When I drove home from work friday everything fine. When I went to start teh car today I just get clicking sound does not turn over. Radio and lights work. 2006 Sonata.

Battery is too low to turn the engine over. Get it jumped and drive it to AutoZone. They will run a free diagnostic and tell you whether it's the battery or the alternator.

I drove the Jeep home with no problems. This morning, it won't start -- no power at all, no radio, light, power lock, power window ... nothing works but I keep on hearing a fast "tick, tick, tick" sound...

Your battery is low or has weak cell. I recommend jump starting vehicle. If it jump starts then replace the battery. If
battery warning light is illuminated on dash may have charging
system concern.

Will not start

You need to check for spark. You could have got water into your ignition coil or distributor cap area and cause it not to spark. It could also be a problem with a crankshaft position sensor.Another possiblity is the asd relay or Autoshutdown relay bad. that realy is in your fuse box underhood. Hope this helps.

Car won't start

You may have a fuel pump issue, or as you mentioned a fuel problem due to water or old gas, check the pressure at the fuel rail that goes to the injectors, there is a service port there, also take a sample of the gas and let it stand to see if any water is present, smell the gas, bad gas smells like paint thinner.
