get a compression test. (same with all engines, with bad head gasket, you may see 2 cylinders real low. and classic reason.
the leak down on rad works too.
as does the blue/green dye test on same.

My jeep will not accelerate when it is in gear. it does start and run good while its in park. it will sputter and seems to back fire

cat converter is going bad. have someone rev engine and feel for pressure at tailpipe. i am willing to bet its restricted. did you have the egr fail code? egr valves hardly ever go bad. a bad cat converter will not allow for normal aceleration, even with the pedal to the floor.

Engine check lamp light for fey seconds. Error code 32 is diplayed. Jeep cherokee 2.5td 1995.

Review the correct year for Error Code 32:
32 (1984 only) power loss/limited lamp or circuit
OR
32 EGR gases not working (1988) - check vacuum, valve
OR
32 (1990-92) computer didn’t see change in air/’fuel ratio when EGR activated - check valve, vacuum lines, and EGR electrical

Hope helped (remember rated this help).

2005 jeep grand cherokee limited 5.7 hemi vehicles hesitates

The egr valve is located on the front of the right cylinder head. It has a tube attached to it and going to the intake manifold. It has failed and is why your jeep is running rough and hesitating. Replace it and it will fix your driveabllity issues. Disconnect the battery for 2 min to clear the code.

Engine ticking

Did you buy as is no waranty? It could be the egr valve, but i would take it back where you bought it and have them make it right. If there any kind of a dealer they should stand behind what they sell.

Hard start

Check fuel system... filter, pump (do you hear it running) pump relay, Pressure test at fuel rail for pressure retention, running pressure etc, regulator operation. Also make sure IAC valve is clean., EGR valve is operational. With the limited info you have posted, there is a list a mile long of stuff that can cause your problem. Do basic checks such as making sure vacuum hoses are connected & intact & that ign system is functioning properly.
After you have better info, perhaps I can help!!!
