If we are talking about Oil then the difference is that synthetic is a man made product that has greater molecular stability under pressure, this means the oil will protect better and longer than a conventional oil and not be as subject to thermal breakdown.

The fundamental difference is if you ever go Synthetic you MUST stay synthetic or you could blow your engine. I did. Synthetic is a chemically good way to go but stay there or stay away.

What weight oil for 2001 santafe

It depends on a number of things and some is by your preferences mileage. Does it leak or burn oil. And do you want a conventional or synthetic i prefer synthetic over conventional cause they last longer and stay cleaner probably cause their are fewer contaminantes in them so i would run a 5w 20 in synthetic and if want conventional so if it use oil i would go with a high mileage oil and a 10 w 30 if you dont then i would use a 5 w 30

What kind of oil do i use for a 2000 dodge carivan?

ENGINE OIL

You will need to use a 10W-30 grade engine oil, such as any of the following Mobil products.
"Fully synthetic" oils are more expensive. Conventional oils or syn blend engine oils are fine for the vehicle but need to be changed more frequently.

Mobil 1 Extended Performance 10W-30
fully synthetic motor oil ;
spacer.gif Mobil 1 High Mileage 10W-30
fully synthetic motor oil;
spacer.gif Mobil 1 10W-30
fully synthetic motor oil;

Mobil Clean 7500 10W-30
synthetic blend motor oil ;
spacer.gif Mobil Clean High Mileage 10W-30
a conventional motor oil;
spacer.gif Mobil Clean 5000 10W-30
a conventional motor oil .

I put 1/3 Quart synthetic blend oil in with my regular oil on accident will this damage my car What should i do? Thank you Roxy

Synthetic and conventional will not "mix" and synthetic creates a barrier on moving parts, that conventional cannot pass. The correct combination will give you no problems and will yield the benefits of both conventional and synthetic. With Engine/Motor Oil, the maximum amount of synthetic recommended is 25%. Foaming will develop if more is used, and the foam will counteract with lubrication. In your case, a little bit of synthetic won't hurt anything!

OIl, synthetic or regular, what's the difference?

Synthetic oil won't break down as quickly as conventional oil, gives better protection and longer life. Excellent product, I Strongly suggested for those out there who forget to do their oil changes regularly or courier/ work vehicles.
Heres the link to an explaination from Castrol

I use conventional Oil in my jimmy with 5% of Lucas engine oil treatment and service the engine every 3,000 miles. I find it to costly for the Synthetic oil every 3,000 miles, and as for the high mileage oil you can buy. The high mileage oil has a higher fluid retention like adding Lucas engine oil treatment to any conventional oil, so you decide on what type of oil you like to use in your engine.
Good luck and hope this helps.

What is the best engine oil for the mercedes e320?

The best oil for any car is 5W-30 synthetic, I personally recommend Mobile 1. 5W-30 Synthetic flows more rapidly to engine parts thereby reducing "dry start" wear. In addition, full (not part) synthetics contain fewer additives (they don't need them) than conventional oils. Conventional oil additives "burn off" rapidly (500-1000 miles) after an oil change and sludge accumulates over time as a result.

Synthetic oils use much less of these additives (5% vs 20-30%) than conventional (Dinosaur oil) so there's much less sludge to build up. Synthetic oil also has a more uniform molecule size, this extends oil longevity and reduces running temperature.

I've personally used Mobile 1 for many yeas in my cars and would recommend it although I'm quite sure that other FULL synthetics would offer similar benefits.
