Question about 1994 Chevrolet Cavalier

1 Answer

1997 Chevrolet Cavalier - Touched the aftermarket power wire and ground wire and shorted out the fuse, replaced fuse and radio not working. Tested all other fuse spots and they all have power coming to them except the radio slot because its all corroded from exploding. What are the pieces called used to crimp the radio wires into a new slot in the fuse box?

Ok thanks, another thing is that when i looked behind the fuse box i noticed that the ignition and radio wires are attached as one blade connector and the power wire going to the 2 ported blade connector is corroded, i guess im wondering if i can just switch the power wire to right next to where it is and put it in the blade connectors for the ignition? does that make any sense that as long as the ignition or radio fuse slots get power since their connected does it matter where the power is supplied?

I have a short somewhere in my 2004 Pontiac sunfire radio wiring that I cant find.

you may have shorted out the radio itself ---if changed fuse test line from fuse to radio if power then radio most likely damaged

Why does my fuse for the radiator fan keep blowing

This is a sign that you have a power wire that is shorted to ground. First check the power wire leading to your fan to see if there is a possible short to ground. Sometimes if the wires are not secure, they can rub up against the spinning fan or melt against the exhaust, and then possibly short against the motor or frame. If the wires appear to be o.k., then check the fan motor to see if it is bad. Try spinning the fan blade manually and if it makes noise or won't spin, replace the motor. Once you isolate the short and repair it, you should be able to install a new fuse with no problem.

My 1997 k1500 5.0 keeps blowing the fuse for the fuel pump, the pump was put in about 6 months . i track a grey wire from the fuel pump RELAY through the back but don't know to what it gose to,i cut the...

that gray wire is the fuel pump power supply . You cut the wire were an positive tested it ??? An what does that mean . you positive tested it ? Wish you people would learn to talk like a mechanic would ! If you cut the wire near the relay an checked with a ohm meter or a test light with B+ volt , of couse it going to show ground ! It's going through the fuel pump windings to ground on the other side . What fuse keeps blowing ?ECM B - 20 amp ? This powers the fuel pump as well . May not even be the fuel pump circuit blowing the fuse . You need to find everything that fuse powers and isolate the different circuits . Videos on youtube showing how to find a short .

1991 chevy 1500 no power to radio fuse

if you got a spark when you touch it to the side (which is the ground) the wire is a power source that should go to the terminal at the back of the lighter. there is no relay for this circuit so change the new fuse it's blown and check for burnt wires.
