1989 Ford Crown Victoria wont go into reverse and drives in nuetral???

Sounds like your linkage slipped out of sequence. On your transmission there is a place where you can manually shift your tansmission through the gears. When you move the selector on the trani it should move the shifter as well. All the way up on selector should be park, then R,N,D so on. If you move the selector all the way up at your shifter reads something else, you need to adjust the linkage and put car in park with selector on trani in park and tighten linkage back up. Run through all the gears and you should be good.

No reverse gear

Your transmission is shot! Could be many different components inside the transmission. Start by checking your transmission fluid. check it with the car idling in park. look for a dark color or burnt odor. the fluid should be a light red color. You will have to go see a transmission specialist to get a few diagnostic tests done first, modern transmissions are extremely complex items and many special tools are required, this work is usually well beyond the home mechanic to attempt.-----------

No brakes or power steering at idle,so far replaced ps pump, steering box, hydro boostwith same result

First thing, check to see if idle is within factory spec. 650/700 in drive. If manual trans, 700 in nuetral. Check for correct belt tension and correct belt routing. Make sure good pressure and return at all fittings. Biggest problems with hydro-boost systems is collapsing return lines. Lack of fluid causes cavitation and unit overheat. Hope this helps. Note: had a ford with factory defect in pressure line in my shop, steel fitting into hose not set correctly, caused pressure to drop under low rpm's. Pressure checks at all fittings very important.

High idle when in drive

Sounds like a faulty TPS sensor, also could be the ECM playing games with you,,,try disconnecting the battery for about 20 mins,,then reconnect,,it may clear it up.
